Ever since receiving his first camera as a gift at age twelve, Christopher Malinger has loved the magic of photography. From building a darkroom and enlarger, while in high school, to his involvement on the school paper, he began to pursue the art of photography.
Joining the United States Coast Guard shortly after graduating from high school, he began his odyssey with camera in hand. His travels included Antarctica and war photography in Viet Nam. Chris' training is mostly self-taught, but his real life experience gave him more insight into the human element of photography. His military career ended serving with the Wisconsin Army National Guard as a photojournalist.
Eileen, his wife, enjoys the same love of photography. At times she is the muse, editor, director and computer wizard. It was a perfect match in talent and concern. Eileen's formal training was at the Milwaukee Area Technical College.
Both Chris and Eileen shared the experience of helping to organize the H.H. Bennett Studio in Wisconsin Dells, while employed by the Wisconsin State Historical Society.
