Hit Send for Murder immediately grabs attention with a perfect blend of classic whodunit intrigue and contemporary technology. Mike Martel, a former Jesuit novitiate turned NYC detective, navigates a murder investigation unlike any other, taking place over a Zoom dinner meeting.
The Lucky Seven, a group of high school friends now prominent in diverse professions, becomes the center of suspense as each member claims an airtight alibi, yet a killer hides among them. Fans of Agatha Christie will appreciate the clever nods to Ten Little Indians and Murder on the Orient Express, now updated for the pandemic era.
The story’s mix of personal history, digital-era tension, and a high-stakes mystery creates an irresistible page, turner for lovers of modern thrillers and classic murder mysteries alike.
Best regards,
Micheal Joel

KIRKUS REVIEW
In this memoir, Hall tells of a life full of difficulties and blessings.

Brain surgery is a terrifying and life-altering experience, especially when one has to go through it more than once. Hall’s memoir explores how she underwent multiple operations, along with stories of friendship, family, and peaks and valleys of health. The author returns to major themes throughout the remembrance, including ideas of personal advocacy and finding one’s voice—both areas in which she struggled but made large strides over the course of her life. She offers on anecdote early on that effectively introduces these concepts: When she was 8, Hall writes, she and her family visited a friend for dinner; however, partway through, her father shamed her in front of everyone for what she was eating: “I was mortified,” she wrote. “I had no voice.” Later, this theme returns in an account of how she reluctantly decided to be interviewed by a journalist in Minneapolis after her brain surgery. She credits her wonderful friends as “women who could laugh at themselves, let loose, and be true girlfriends. I would never be in a better company or a safer space. Suddenly, the words and the tears began to flow. I had found my voice.” This is revealed to readers as a revolutionary transformation—one that served not only to protect Hall’s physical and mental health, but also her spirit. Over the course of the book, she successfully shows how she used her voice, and her perseverance, as powerful tools to guide her through life’s challenges. The author also offers the solid lesson that, in her experience, there are times when one just knows that something is wrong—whether in a relationship with a friend, an interaction with a doctor, or within one’s own body.
A refreshing account of a unique personal journey.
